Instagram tested copying new video features from TikTok

Instagram owned by Facebook has decided to create its own virus content generator version Tiktok.

TechCrunch reports that the new feature introduced by Instagram is called Reels. The tool allows users to create 15-second clips using music and then upload them to their Instagram stories.

A month ago, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed concern about Tiktok’s censorship policy in a speech at Georgetown University.

Facebook earlier gave up a new app, Lasso, which is the company's first attempt to create an app similar to Tiktok. However, they have now plugged this feature into Instagram stories instead of making separate apps.

Swipe right on the Instagram app and you can see Reels in Boomerang and Super-Zoom mode. You can choose a movie without music or a movie with songs from your Instagram library.

However, the editing tools for the reels are not extensive. You can only adjust the speed of the video, add captions and overlay the scene to smooth the transition.
